Terms of Service

Last updated: July 2025

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the website at oceanpermits.com or engaging the services of Ocean Permits & Development ("Company," "we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our website or services.

2. Services Description

Ocean Permits & Development provides permit expediting, entitlement consulting, and related professional services to clients in California, Arizona, Texas, Florida, and other jurisdictions. Our services include, but are not limited to, preparation and submission of permit applications, coordination with municipal agencies, plan check management, and project status monitoring.

We are not a law firm and do not provide legal advice. Nothing on this website constitutes legal counsel. For legal matters, please consult a licensed attorney.

3. Client Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate, complete, and timely information required for permit applications.
  • Ensure all project documentation (architectural plans, structural drawings, etc.) is prepared by licensed professionals where required by law.
  • Pay all city fees, agency fees, and third-party costs associated with the permitting process.
  • Notify us promptly of any changes to project scope, ownership, or other material facts.
  • Comply with all applicable laws, codes, and regulations governing your project.

4. Fees & Payment

Our service fees are established in a separate written agreement or proposal provided to each client. Fees are due as specified in the applicable agreement. City permit fees, plan check fees, and other governmental charges are separate from our service fees and are the sole responsibility of the client. We are not responsible for delays or additional costs arising from changes in governmental fee schedules or processing times.

5. Timeline & Permit Approval

We make every effort to expedite the permitting process; however, we cannot guarantee specific approval timelines. Permit approval is the sole authority of the applicable governmental agency. Delays caused by agency backlogs, incomplete project documentation, plan check corrections, or changes in project scope are outside our control and do not constitute a breach of our service obligations.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Ocean Permits & Development shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to lost profits, project delays, construction costs, or loss of business opportunity, arising from or related to our services or this website, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability to any client shall not exceed the total fees paid to us for the specific project giving rise to the claim.
